Politics is local and we can have the most impact on our school boards

Your superintendent is the highest paid, most powerful public official in the municipality. Do you know his name?

Elected board members, although well intentioned are easily led by their paid employees; teachers & administrators.

Do you know what they're all doing? Well here in New Jersey they represent at least 60% of your property tax bill and budgets grow at an astounding compound rate each year.

Another Red Flag

As I previously noted, there is a danger in combining all district operations under one single authority. Well, another suspicious transaction was brought to my attention. On page 8 of the 12/8 agenda, sealed bids were received regarding the disposal of four district vehicles. Note that Tucker Kelly bid $2,601 for vehicle #26 and Liberty Motors won with a bid of $2,601.99. (see below)

Two bids within $.99 is a bit coincidental and it’s hard to imagine Liberty’s wining bid was submitted without any inside information. Was there collusion between Liberty and someone within the district?

Decide for yourself but it looks pretty strange. Based on this observation. I think a detailed review of the bidding process is warranted.
